When You Can Live Forever, What Do You Live For?

**Title of this blog is a quote from Stephanie Meyer's novel "Twilight"~~~~
So far I have read all the "Twilight" novels except for "Breaking Dawn." I have seen and own every single film on blu ray, but do have a soft spot for the books. There are some differences in characters, most of all is Edward and Bella. It's been awhile since I read them, but I do remember Edward being more "father like" towards Bella, even sort of treating her like a child. It makes sense because he's actually been around for many, many years and Bella, being human up until "Breaking Dawn", is only 18. However, I didn't feel that way from Robert Pattinson's take on Edward's character. Bella is a bit more soft and passive, but then again Kristen Stewarts take on Bella is almost spot on- except for when she becomes a vampire and kicks @ss! lol....the character of Bella is very clumsy, but I think they toned that down for the films.
All in all, the books are magical and the movies are good- it's a good saga. Not the best but it's still up there! And I'm sorry, I do think the vampires sparkling in the light is a bit...ahem....yeah, we will leave it at that. ;-) But I do understand that the author wanted to make this non-gory for teens because really, that's who the saga was geared for- young kids and teens. So I would agree with her there. However, if anyone out there has read these books and seen the flicks, I dare you to watch Coppola's "Dracula" film- you won't be sorry!!
